Sports Perform

SportsPerform has been developed to meet the needs of the proactive sports person, the coach and the team by Kate Markland from The Markland Clinic.

Kate observed, in addition to injury management, clients were asking for advice on injury prevention and was increasingly working with individual athletes on injury prevention strategies.

However she realised if the strategies were to reach more athletes, then sports coaches and teachers need access to the information so they can incorporate injury prevention as part of the training. As well as 1-to-1 consultations SportsPerform delivers courses presenting evidence based injury prevention to sports coaches and teachers.

The first program and courses launched were JumpPerform, an innovative injury prevention and performance-enhancing program. This evidence-based program is aimed at women and girls in sports such as football, netball, basketball, hockey or squash or other sports, which involve rapid stopping, turning or jumping.

JumpPerform has been followed by SkiPerform, which helps to reduce the risk of serious injuries among skiers and snowboarders.

The next program and course to be launched will be AssessPerform, which will provide sports teams and clubs with science based pre-season biomechanical assessments including video analysis.
